Vitamin C & Gout Here Is What You Need To Know

If you feel sudden intense pain, redness, heat, swelling, and tenderness in the joint then you might have Gout. Gout is a type of arthritis that usually affects the large joints of the big toe.

The symptoms can occur in your feet, ankles, knees, hands, and wrists. Attacks typically last about five to 10 days.

Gout is caused when there are accumulations of uric acid crystals, substances found naturally in the body and in foods such as organ meats, asparagus, anchovies, herring, and mushrooms.

So far, scientific support for the claim that any Gout Dietary Supplements can treat gout is limited.

According to some evidence, vitamin C may help to reduce uric acid levels. In the study, 184 people took either vitamin C supplements (500 milligrams per day) or a placebo.

Two months later, uric acid levels were seen significantly reduced in people taking vitamin C but not in the people taking the placebo. However, this research suggests that vitamin C may help prevent or treat gout, many more studies are needed before we can conclude this.
