Heart Healthy Food You Should Start Eating Today
For your heart’s health, it is very important to
take care of what you put on your plate. One can surely reduce the risk of
developing cardiovascular disease by eating certain foods every day. There is a
great list of fruits and vegetables that are good for your heart.
Your diet should include, heart-healthy foods
such as nuts, fish, whole grains, olive oil, vegetables, and fruits, but don’t
be afraid to treat yourself occasionally with a glass of red wine or a piece of
dark chocolate.
Soy adds edamame beans or marinated tofu in a
stir-fry with fresh veggies for a heart-healthy lunch or dinner.
Fruits such as cantaloupes, oranges, and papaya
are rich in beta-carotene, potassium, magnesium, and fiber. Fruit juices are
like herbal heart syrup you can add them in your daily diet.
Veggies such as tomatoes, carrots, sweet
potatoes, red peppers, and acorn squash are packed with carotenoids, fiber and
vitamins to help your heart.
Green veggies. Use these sandwiches and salads
instead of lettuce. Broccoli and asparagus are filled with mighty nutrients
such as vitamins C and E, potassium, folate, calcium and fiber.
Oats are the nutrient powerhouse. You can also
toast oats to top yogurt, salads or to add into a trail mix if you are not a
fan of them cooked.
