Use These Rituals To Help You Get Deep Sleep

A night of good night sleep can be tough these days, and this can lead to feeling less than refreshed when you wake up in the morning. The quality of your sleep largely depends on your daily rituals. If you’ve not been getting quality sleep lately, your rituals are partly to blame. This is good news since it means you have the power to improve the quality of your sleep. You don’t even have to change everything you do from dawn till dusk or use sleepless tablets. Incorporating some new rituals two to three hours before bedtime can make all the difference.

Add these simple bedtime rituals to beat insomnia and sleep like a log:

Set a bedtime alarm:
Sleeping at drastically different times every night including weekends can throw your circadian rhythm out of whack and lead to insomnia. While it sounds funny but it really works.

Stop working before bedtime:
Involved in two or more work before bed is not a good idea. It keeps your mind wandering and makes it harder for you to fall asleep. Try finishing your tasks early, and relax in the hour leading up to bedtime. Basically, avoid any activity that increases your alertness, such as watching an interesting movie or talking on the phone.

Wear blue-light-blocking glasses:
We all know using a cell phone before sleeping is not at all good. Exposure to blue light at night reduces the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. You can use anti-reflective glasses before bed which can prevent light-induced melatonin suppression.

Take a warm shower:
Various studies have proved that taking a shower or a relaxing bath can help you fall asleep faster. If you’re too lazy to take a bath or a shower, bathe your feet in hot water for about 30 minutes. A study shows it can also improve your sleep.
